Barry Fromm – Founding Member & CEO

Mr. Fromm is the founder and CEO of Value Recovery Group, Inc. (“VRG”), and Global Recovery Group.  Mr. Fromm has 27 years of contracting and partnering experience in recovering on real estate, delinquent debt and other distressed assets for federal agencies, including the FDIC, Customs & Border Protection, Export-Import Bank OPIC, and the US Department of Education. His firm also holds 10 prime contracts with Federal agencies in transportation, interior, GSA, and HUD. Mr. Fromm has been a banker, a financial institutions consultant for Deloitte & Touche, and Senior Manager for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Fromm has a B.S. (Business Administration) from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana (1972) and a JD from Blake McDowell School of Law, University of Akron, Akron, Ohio (1980).


Ralph Griffith – President

Mr. Griffith has continuously been active in GRG since its inception, serving as Senior Asset Recovery Manager and as a representative on the GRG Credit Committee. He is also the COO of Value Recovery Group, Inc. (Managing Member), overseeing its business platforms of collections/recoveries, government consulting, and real estate development. Mr. Griffith’s background includes 14 years of regional commercial banking and 12 years consulting with clients on financial transactions. These transactions included capital formation, business sale and acquisition, debt restructuring, business valuations, and strategic planning. His 13 years with VRG includes the development of client programs, international project assignments, management of financial institution relationships, project finance, management of acquisitions by VRG, and operational oversight for all platforms.

Mr. Griffith received his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, IL (1979) and a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, OH (1978)

Beatriz Elena León – Chief Operating Officer

Beatriz Elena León

Ms. Leon is COO of Global Recovery Group, LLC (“GRG”), where she is responsible for overseeing the company’s Latin American portfolio as well as managing the litigation portfolio.   Prior to joining GRG in 2006, Ms. Leon worked with the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins, an international law firm, as well as with a multinational telecom provider as an in-house policy advisor in the areas of regulatory and government affairs.  From 1995 to 1996 Ms. Leon served as the Mayor of Usaquén, Bogota, Colombia. Ms. León has extensive legal experience in regulatory and commercial law in Latin America.  Prior to becoming Mayor, she practiced law in Colombia serving as counsel for the Attorney General’s Office and National Controller’s office.  Ms. León also was a legal advisor for private corporate clients in Colombia and Santiago, Chile, as well as for the Colombian National Railroad Company, a Colombian government agency.

Ms. Leon has an International Business Law degree from Washington College of Law (2001), a J.D from Autonoma University in Colombia (1990), and a Master’s in Business Law from Javeriana University in Colombia (1992).

 Donald (“Skip”) Bean, Jr. – Special Counsel


Mr. Bean has practiced law since 1982 in the areas of real estate and distressed real estate and financial assets.  He served as general counsel to a national trade association for asset management firms involved in the liquidation of assets for the FDIC and the Resolution Trust Corporation.  From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Bean was Director of Real Estate for the RTC Oversight Board, where he advised a board chaired by the Secretary of the Treasury and including the Chairman of the Federal Reserve System and Secretary of HUD, on policy relating to the disposition of real estate assets by the Resolution Trust Corporation.

Mr. Bean has a JD (1982), MBA (1982) and BA (Honors, 1979) from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois.
